La Hacienda Spanish School – (Guanajuato)

(5/5) We had an amazing time studying at La Hacienda! Our teachers, Luis and Esme, were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and patient. They tailored the classes to our level and we enjoyed the mix of grammar and open conversation practice. The school building was magical: bright, welcoming, and overlooking a beautiful park. Guanajuato is a vibrant and lively city - filled with things to do after classes and kind and friendly people - my mom and I felt safe and comfortable the entire trip. I'm already planning a trip back and recommending this school to friends!

(5/5) I attended this school for two weeks, and I cannot say enough positive things about this place! My Spanish improved dramatically. Moreover, I made tons of close friends, discovered a new favorite city in Mexico, and dived into a unique, vibrant, and welcoming culture. This is an excellent school offering professional and tailored lessons and a phenomenal overall experience. I hope to come back one day.

I left having more knowledge and practical skills in Spanish, as well as motivation to continue learning! Hoping to return to continue my learning, and recommend this experience to anyone wanting to learn Spanish in a beautiful city with lots to do and explore.

(5/5) Wow, my experience was absolutely amazing. All of the teachers are extremely knowledgable, flexible, and patient. I had Luis, Esme, and Kati. They were so good at filling in the gaps in my grammar, they were always prepared with topics for conversation, and helped me learn important phrases. I did not want to leave by the end of my stay because I was having that great of a time. I plan to return one day. Highly highly recommend!

(5/5) We have been taking language classes here for 5 weeks and intend to take another 5. Wonderful, thoughtful instructors, each hour has a slightly different format (we do 3 hours of grammar, and 1 of conversation practice). The school has a relaxed atmosphere, located in a gorgeous hacienda, the teachers focus on where you can improve and cater the classes to things you want to learn. Love it here! We have met so many wonderful friends and connections.

(5/5) Luis and his staff, Esme & Katy are really kind, patient people, who offer an immersive Spanish learning environment. I learned a lot in my short two weeks of classes, about Spanish as spoken in México, as well as about local history and culture. Very reasonable prices -- well worth it.

(5/5) We returned to La Hacienda after 5 years. I can't believe I didn't leave a rave review back then, so I have to make up for it now. We have had many classes in Spanish, in many forms, in various countries, and this is, by far, the best place to learn Spanish. We have enjoyed both group and private classes. The teachers are all fantastic. Their knowledge of grammar, structure, syntax, and underlying culture is unparalleled. In fact, hitherto difficult concepts in grammar has been explained easily and thoroughly in a single class. Thank you, Luis! I especially enjoyed a week-long introduction to Mexican literature, which dovetailed with learning more about Mexican culture and history (thank you Esme--I now have my own book of Juan Rulfo).
